VAXXED: From Cover-Up to Catastrophe censored doc pulled by the Tribeca Film Festival shocking autism study

HERE IS THE TRAILER FROM Vaxxed: From Cover-Up to Catastrophe.  THAT WAS SCHEDULED to play the TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL that exposes the role of coverup at the CDC over data that purports autism is related to vaccine use in children. A whistleblower at the CDC spoke with director Andrew Wakefield and broke silence. A US Congressman was convinced the truth was being told .. that is at the core of the documentary at . All hell broke loose when it became public that it had been programed. Finally Robert De Niro had a press conference and defended the selection stating "autism was an issue very personal to his family." 24 hours later the film was pulled. The Sloan Foundation a major supporter of the TFF has apparently fiercely objected on scientific terms behind the scene and demanded it be pulled leaving TFF official looking like they have backed away from freedom of expression and the role of a Film Festival to provoke through creative work difficult issues and discussion, When originally scheduled, the film showing was to have been followed directly by a panel discussion. Apparently this did not satisfy the Sloan Foundation who continued to demand it be pulled. It was .. over the next few days more, as they say , will be revealed . Now of course the demand to see it far exceeds the expectations when programed. It is very hard tp get anyone to speak on thr record at this stage.. tbe

click on this link http://www.vaxxedthemovie.com/ it has information on the film. It contains the actual, original TFF posting and trailer l that has been withdrawn,

Here is the complete ABC News interview with the producer Del Bigtree

“If you're already curating your potential "songs of the summer" playlist,

Over a month ago, the internet sparked when world-renowned producer STEVE AOKI shared pictures and video of him in the studio with pop sensation Adam LambertToday (March 25) fans can now experience "Can't Go Home." Co-produced by Felix Jaehn--known for his work on OMI's global smash "Cheerleader"---and AOKI, the two come together for the first time to provide a very unique dance floor groove featuring Lambert. The song (which made its official premiere yesterday on People.com) is available now at all digital retailers on Ultra Music.

"This song is a genre crossing collaboration from two different worlds between myself and Felix Jaehn and that's the beauty in mixing it up and making something so unique as 'Can't Go Home,'" AOKI told People of the track.  "Adding one of the best vocalists in the world Adam Lambert on it just brings this special song to a whole new level. Super excited about sharing this with the world!"

"The recording session with Steve was so much fun!!! He's got such an upbeat energy!" says Adam Lambert of the song.

"It's been great fun to work with Steve Aoki & Adam Lambert on this record. Both are experts of their craft," adds Felix Jaehn. "Together we combined three styles in one record which makes it sound super fresh!"

Meanwhile, tickets are on sale now here for the premiere of the documentary I'LL SLEEP WHEN I'M DEAD--which takes a compelling look into the life and mind of STEVE AOKI, one of dance music's most hardworking, controversial and captivating characters--at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City Friday, April 15 at the Beacon Theatre. The screening will be followed by an exclusive conversation with AOKI and a live performance where fans and movie goers can experience the music that was created during the film.

I'll Sleep When I'm Dead was shot during the making of STEVE AOKI's Neon Future double album (Dim Mak/Ultra Music, 2014/15). It follows AOKI on his journey to play the biggest show of his career at Madison Square Garden and centers around his complex yet loving relationship with his father, the Benihana restaurant tycoon and former Olympian Rocky Aoki. I'll Sleep When I'm Dead comes from the minds behind JIRO DREAMS OF SUSHI and explores similar themes of family bonds and expectations. It is directed by Justin Krook, produced Matthew Weaver (Rock of Ages), Matt Colon, Happy Walters and David Gelb (Chef's Table, TFF2015; Jiro Dreams of Sushi, TFF 2011).

My Choice for Best Foreign Film of the Year Embrace of The Serpent MUST CLOSE March 31st GO !

My choice for best foreign film of the year is EMBRACE OF THE SERPENT> It is like no ohter film you will see today. Looking and feeling like an exceptional documentary, this based on a real incredible true story is in fact a narrative film. Years in the making and cast with authentic people as well as subre actors it is playing in at the FILM FORUM in NYC .. it must close on the 31st . If you see one film this Easter weekend ...make it Embrace of the Serpent.

Set in the Colombian Amazon, EMBRACE OF THE SERPENT has been called visually “mesmerizing” and “stunning,” as it tells the story of two Western explorers who search for rare botanical species in this most remote and lush of South American jungles. Based on the diaries of two white men who travelled in the region, one in 1909, and the other 30 years later – the film, nonetheless, has as its protagonist a native shaman who, first as a young man and then as a much older one, acts as their guide. Karamakate is no naïf. He’s tough-minded and astute about the ravages brought by the white man’s colonialism, his missionaries and rapacious rubber industry.  Under the spell of their guide, the explorers unwittingly become entranced by a sense of time that is more circular than linear and experience spectacular hallucinogenic dreams and desires.

OMG Laura Terruso co-wrote Hello, My Name Is Doris. It opens on the 11th NY /LA and she is played by Sally Fields. + watch trailer

We are thrilled that the best film critic in New York City  (Richard Brody in the New Yorker) has fallen for  Hello. My Name Is Doris ...  Doris , played by academy award winning actress Sally Fields.  admits to being 60 something but we suspect she has chopped a few years or possibly a decade, Her  mother has passes and she is alone to navigate the world outside the Staten Island house they shared.. On an  elevator she bumps into a 20 something art director and he gets her juices flowing once again. She wants him  and will not let anything get in the way. An adult fairytale? An impossible dream? a dammit "why not "moment?  You will have to see it to decide . What I can tell you is the script (fabulous story telling ) is original and extremely funny while making palpable the erotic desires of a senior in lust. Michael Showalter directs and co-wrote the script with Laura Terruso  indie goddess-of-all-trades at the moment and my neighbor  As a the cinematographer (the indie hit Codependent Lesbian Space Alien Seeks Same)  and as producer ( Codependent Lesbian Space Alien Seeks Same, Foxy Merkin  as well as having directed and shot music videos for Joseph Keckler). Terruso  who could pass for a young Roz Russell or a get-down-to-business Susan Hayworth or Katy Perry's smart sister,  is part of the 21st century New Wave of film directors and producers that are shaking up the Indie world from NYC to LA to Austin. Sally Fields is an Actors Studio member .. and once again is so remarkable as well as brave in her performance that she makes you forget all those other people she has played.  See it ..it opens on the 11th

THE NEW YORKER

Movies

HELLO, MY NAME IS DORIS

Michael Showalter’s amiable new comedy features a taut setup that packs howls of anguish in its contrived simplicity. Doris Miller (Sally Field), a seventyish bookkeeper, is a fish out of water in her cubicle at a hip young media company in Chelsea. She’s unmarried and has no children, having lived her entire life in a house in Staten Island with her mother, who, at the start of the film, has just died. Doris—whimsical, hypersensitive, socially awkward—is burdened by her sudden solitude, when, in an elevator at work, she bumps into John Fremont (Max Greenfield), a handsome and charming twenty-something new art director in her office. She’s instantly smitten and takes unusual measures—aided by Vivian (Isabella Acres), the teen-age daughter of her best friend, Roz (Tyne Daly)—to insinuate herself into John’s life. Showalter, who co-wrote the film with Laura Terruso, keeps the tone sentimentally comedic, blending touches of wit (Doris’s fantasies), whimsy (Doris’s trip to a rock club in Williamsburg), and drama (Doris’s relationship with her brother). But within the perky antics is bewildered rage at the prospect of aging, solitude, and irrelevance; the best thing about the film is that it has no answers.

National Black Programming Consortium

Moderated by Van Jones, the chat will feature local leaders and national activists
to discuss the impacts of the Flint water crisis

What:    As a lead up to Sunday’s live broadcasted #JUSTICEFORFLINT event, Blackout for Human Rights will join with the National Black Programming Consortium to host a live online chat about the issues impacting the City of Flint, Michigan. Moderated by Van Jones, the chat will feature members of Blackout and local leaders and community members based in Flint.

When:                  Saturday, February 27 at 3:00 p.m. EST

Who:     Filmmaker and Blackout for Human Rights Founding Member Ryan Coogler; filmmaker and activist Mark Ruffalo, political activist, author and commentator Van Jones, Campaign for Black Male Achievement VP for Communications Rashid Shabazz, PICO National Network “Live Free” Campaign National Director Michael McBride, Flint Organizer and Michigan Faith in Action Executive Director Rick Carter, Justice League NYC activist Carmen Perez, and other local and national leaders.

Where: To join the chat, visit http://blackpublicmedia.org/project/justice-for-flint/. Also follow Blackout and NBPC on Twitter at @UnitedBlackout and @BLKPublicMedia

Why:     Nearly 100,000 residents of Flint have been consuming water contaminated with dangerous levels of lead. The long-term consequences for public health, community infrastructure and finances are immeasurable. As the United Nations recognizes, "The human right to water is indispensable for leading a life in human dignity. It is a prerequisite for the realization of other human rights." The events in Flint -- whose residents are disproportionately poor and of color, and who have been battling this issue for nearly two years -- call for mobilization and action to address this state-sponsored human rights violation.

Using the power of the arts to shed light on the situation in Flint, and to raise donations to help remedy the crisis, #JUSTICEFORFLINT will feature live musical performances with today's leading artists. The event will also include presentations and open dialogue with the local community, the goal being to help build and support the durable infrastructure needed to assist the citizens of Flint. REVOLT TV serves as principal media sponsor for the event, and will stream the program live on their website.

#JUSTICEFORFLINT will include performances and appearances by filmmaker and Founding Blackout Member Ryan Coogler, Grammy-nominated artists Janelle Monae, Ledisi, Andra Day, Vic Mensa, and Musiq Soulchild, Grammy-winning artist Robert Glasper, actor/activist and Blackout Member Jesse Williams, “Empire” star and activist Jussie Smollett, EBONY Magazine Senior Editor Jamilah Lemieux, hip-hop artist and activist Jasiri X, hip-hop artist Mysonne, hip-hop artist Vic Mensa, hip-hop artists/producers and Detroit natives Royce da 5'9 and Denaun Porter, Flint native Jon Connor, Pastor Patrick Sanders of the New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church in Flint, and more. Comedian Hannibal Buress will serve as event host.

Local sponsoring organizations include Michigan Faith In Action and the Flint Democracy Defense League. National sponsoring individuals and organizations include the Campaign for Black Male Achievement, Color of Change, All Def Digital, ARRAY, Sankofa.org, NY Justice League, Colorlines, M.A.D.E. PICO National Network, The Solomon Group and Clarence Thomas, past secretary-treasurer ILWU Local 10.

*Jim Fouratt's REEL DEAL: MOVIES THAT MATTER* (a version was first was published in WESTVIEW News 1/01/15) January 2015) As I write this column I am still reeling from the saturation of quality films that opened and closed in the last 90 days in NYC and LA in order to qualify in *Oscar Season*. Some will be back in the next couple of months for all of you to see. We can thank my neighbor *Harvey Weinstein* for creating this frenzy template of release pattern. Missing was his much anticipated *Grace of Monaco*,(*Nicole Kidman*), It had a bumpy debut at *Cannes* and disappeared almost... more »

liv Ullman in public chat about Miss Julie Film Society of Lincoln Center ...

Jim fouratt's REEL DEAL at jim fouratt's REEL DEAL - 1 year ago
Almost invisible in this year's best of list was Miss Julie directed by Liv Ullman and staring Jessica Chastain who gives in my opinion the best performance of the year, Colin Farrell and Samantha Morton are pitch perfect too... here Liv talks about the work and how she adapted Strindberg through a 21st century, feminist gaze. Look for the film on VOD and watch it please (i do ask a question during eh Q&A)

AMERICAN SNIPER vs FURY

Jim fouratt's REEL DEAL at jim fouratt's REEL DEAL - 1 year ago
*AMERICAN SNIPER* vs *FURY* I made a mistake and paid to see American Sniper ... No matter how I queried I was not invited to any press screening. *Clint Eastwood *like his films or not is a master of craft and since I was putting the finishing touches on my *Reel Deal: Movies that Matter:* *Best Films of 2014* I felt I should see it. MISTAKE! The press people must have know I would hate it. I did.The kind of mixture of blind Patriotism and hyper-masculinity is the breeding ground of bullies, tea party politics and the mentality that creates the police code of honor that makes ... more »

*The CIRCLE *is the kind of documentary I love . I discovered by watching it something I did not know nor ever heard of: In 1934 a group of gay men in Zurich formed a private social club to break isolation and to publish a journal that would be published in three languages. This club continued to meet despite the outside world of the 30's and 40' In 1948 the *KREIS* rented a pub in Zurich to house a club in which „homophiles“ from all over Switzerland could meet, exchange ideas and get to know one another. The film focuses on a couple,*Ernst Ostertag,* and *Röbi Rapp*, who met at ...more »

PRIDE director *Martin Warchus\* (*published Oct 1st 2014 **Westview News**) * *PRIDE* is based on a true story about a compelling, recent chapter in British history. During the crippling 1984-1985 national miners‟ strike, the U.K.’s gay and lesbian community, already under siege with the beginnings of the AIDS epidemic, took up the cause of the battling miners, raising funds that literally kept them and their families from starvation. *LGSM* (*Lesbians & Gays Support Miners)* grew into a national movement because of the vision of 24 year of Mark Aston and members of *London’s Gay Li... more »
