Julie Taymor’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream
Julie Taymor is an Oscar-nominated and Emmy-winning director, writer, and producer whose visionary work has also extended to the stage with The Magic Flute and the Broadway smash-hit The Lion King. Taymor’s big-screen credits include Titus, Frida, Across the Universe, and The Tempest. Her latest project blends the worlds of cinema and theater, presenting a multi-camera film that captures a 2014 live performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Theatre for a New Audience’s Polonsky Shakespeare Center in Brooklyn. Starring David Harewood (Homeland, Blood Diamond), Kathryn Hunter (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix), Tina Benko (The Avengers), and Max Casella (Blue Jasmine), Julie Taymor’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream opened to rave reviews at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival and will hit select theaters June
 22

Taymor’s production of Shakespeare’s most phantasmagorical play is visually breathtaking, funny, sexy, and darkly poetic. Ealing Studios, Londinium Films, in association with Theatre for a New Audience and producers Lynn Hendee (Ender’s Game, The Tempest) and Ben Latham-Jones (Nina, The D-Train) have joined forces with Taymor to create this exclusive filmed production. Featuring cinematography by Academy Award nominee Rodrigo Prieto (The Wolf of Wall Street, Argo) and music by Academy Award–winning composer Elliot Goldenthal (Frida, Heat), this immersive, inventive cinematic experience allows audiences from around the world to witness this critically lauded, sold-out show. Taymor will share her experiences about bringing A Midsummer Night’s Dream to the big screen.

YOKO ONO was very much her own woman and very much a multi-media artist before, during and after John

Before John Yoko was an established experimental artist recognized world wide . An original member of FLUXUS . She also had her own money being a daughter of a wealthy Japanese family... She did not need John to give meaning to her life or to support her . In fact he needed to learn from her how to ba an independent artist and true to his vision, Much of this is revealed in the MoMA exhibit that opened on May 17th .... Yoko has always been her own woman before , during and after John, And she was a woman in love with and very much loved by John Lennon.

"(Dis)Honesty - The Truth About Lies" -

See for FREE on CNBC...........
  • From ticket-fixing in our police departments to test-score scandals in our schools, from our elected leaders' extra-marital affairs to financial schemes undermining our economy, dishonesty seems to be a ubiquitous part of the news. But it's not just true in the headlines - we ALL cheat.
    Written by Anonymous
  • '(Dis)Honesty - The Truth About Lies' is a documentary feature film that explores how and why people lie. The film is anchored in behavioral experiments that measure our propensity to lie - sometimes even unknowingly. On a more personal level, from little white lies to devastating deceits, people share on camera the true stories of lies they've told. Experts examine the reasons behind our behavior and the implications of our dishonesty. Behavioral scientist Dan Ariely brings these elements together and guides us in discovering the complicated truths about lies.

MAD MAX Fury Road: What is there not to love?

"MAD MAX Fury Road: What is there not to love? A one armed female hero with no gender expression problems, a Max who has perfectly internalized the steel silence and vulnerability of Randolph Scott and Cary Cooper, more sand storms than Lawrence of Arabia, Four pregnant Priscillas in desert distress, a posse of old dykes on bikes to the rescue,  almost dialogue free(!)  a soundscape that pays homage to a live performance of a Metallica-like art composition.. ..... and under all the noise, visual stimulation and nerve wracking battle scenes is a critique on oil dependency, privatization of water and a woman's right to control her body.  I kid you not!   Remember Babe? the lovable pig movie?  same director George Miller.  Go .... better yet sneak in!"
